Day Dreams
I have a private cinema,
I keep it in my brain,
There isn't any entrance fee,
The films are only shown to me,
Sometimes time and time again.
My private cinema provides
Adventure and romance,
No matter what the stories are
In every one I am the star,
Full of verve and confidence.
And to this private cinema
I used to run away,
Till heart and brain began to shrink,
Sapping the power to feel and think
In a most depressing way.
So now I've shut the cinema,
And heart and brain are free
To think and feel and give and care
For all around me, free to dare
To live adventurously.
